Looking at the question I think anyone answering negatively is not understanding the questions, I would rather have something else than a new minipet, but not anything else, for example ithe they cave me one of the ever so useful fireworks, rather than a minipet, I would be extremely upset,

Someone saying anything, mean that they would happily recieve a slap on the face, a permanent ban from the game, their characters regressed to level 1 and nothing accomplished, etc, etc,

To be honest, I think its stupid to say I would rather have anything than a minipet, either that or they have no imagination as to what they may recieve!

Reason why we got minis again is that no other ideas had a larger vote than the minis. Anet gave us a thread to post what else would we want. Minis won hands down. However I think for next year we should have a poll in the suggestions forum. Lets try to decide on something that most people would agree with other than the mini idea.

I actually think I do understand the question, and you aren't quite understanding it. I took the ANYTHING BUT ANOTHER part as sarcastic, simply to show Anet that we don't really want them. Sure I don't think any of us rather have nothing, but mini-pets really are pointless.

(P.S., I actually rather have the fireworks then a minipet.)

Functioning in the game yes they are pointless, however you can sell them to other players, fireworks are just as pointless but sellign them I dont think you will get as much gold for them as for a mini-pet

Maybe the poll is tryign to be sarcastic, but its not scientific then, either the question is not meaning what it is asking or is misleading, as i put i would not want anything other than a minipet, but i would rather have something else, more usefull.

In the field where I work the question is all important if you misunderstand it or try reading into it then you are liable to make an awful mistake, I'm simply pointing out that the samantics of this question should lead most to say yes.

I'm sure there are many out there that would rather have nothing than a mini-pet, as one responder here actually stated, but thats not even the question, or they would, like you, rather have the firework.

The point I was trying to make was that by saying anything you may end up with somethign equally as useless, better or worse than the mini-pet.

The poll that is mentioned wasn't by anet it was in response to a belief by anet that a new set of minipets were the by far most wanted 2nd birthday present

It was the 5th most popular voted for, but had only 8.76%, or 50 votes out of 571, the most popular had 20.32% with 116 votes and was for a new special aura/visual that could be toggled on and off.

While this shows that there was no huge outcry for minipets, it also shows there was little to no consensus on what should be available.

The post by Gaile that thsi refered to was a simple question asking for replies, there wasn't a poll, and it said give the ideas we will look through them and see what most want.

maybe it was a different post but the post I read was Gaile saying that it WAS going to be minipets and they wanted ideas on what those pets would be !

In anycase.. This time last year when we were all marveling at the minipets Idea Gaile said something along the lines of 'and the NEXT birthday pressent will be an bigger suprise!' - Clearly she didnt know what they would be. so why did she say it?... more bullshit.

more pets, is no suprise!.. who wants the same kind of birthday present every year?
